I went from the most challenging DIY with my peel and stick wallpaper adventures to one of the easiest DIYs out there – this DIY antique vase. It may sound like nothing much, but some of these vases are going for 100s of dollars, and you know what, if you can track down some mud, you can have an antique vase for a heck of a lot less than several 100s of dollars. First, can we talk about this inspo – how beautiful… Don’t get discouraged, we can make our own antique vase.

Antique Your own Vase

I opted for the super simple method – I spray painted it and then added a bunch of mud onto my vase until it dried. I’ve seen more ways that people have added texture and depth to their vases including drywall joint compound like I did for the DIY textured art. I’ve also seen concrete added to create some texture.

Any way you choose will be perfectly imperfect. Which is the exact point of an antique vase. Oh, also, if you find your perfect vase at the thrift store – it’s even better and more affordable!

My vase is from Ikea, I’d been eying it for far too long to ignore the fact that I love its shape.
