espite being the most excited for the warmest season, I am somehow always relatively unequipped when summer arrives. It tends to arrive fast and furiously and I never have the right shoes, clothes, outdoor entertaining items (it doesn’t help that I always have a new vision of what I want our outdoor entertaining space to be like!), and the list goes on. Luckily, summer on the west coast has disappeared giving us more time to prepare which is perfect as I give you my summer must-have’s for this year. Buckle up, I’ve sourced some of my favourites and they won’t disappoint. Let’s start with what’s on sale!
Summer Must-Have’s with the Gap
No matter how much I try, I am always ill prepared in the summer, especially when it comes to summer outfits. This year I’ve been extra un-prepared given I’m growing a new human and NOTHING fits. Luckily the Gap is helping me fix that. Needless to say, my new favourite dresses and swimsuits have certainly made it onto my summer must-have’s list.

My outfit above includes my new favourite dress from the Gap; it’s flowy, flattering, and so darn comfortable. My favourite part is that it even accommodates a baby bump! The dress is not a maternity dress – which means I get to wear it again next year!!! The sandals are a slip-on gold metallic sandal making it easy to go inside and outside while being able to take your shoes on and off. I’ve had them since April and they have been an easy, chic go-to. The straw tote is also something I’ve had since April and get ALL the compliments on – absolutely a summer must-have.

Okay, onto the outdoor entertaining goodies that are my summer must-have’s. If you’ve been here a while you know that I am a big fan of making spaces feel cozy. Not like cozy, snuggly warm, because that’s the last thing you want in the summer when the sun is beating down on you. But cozy meaning the space is complete and functional. The first thing I think that brought our outdoor lounge space together in a cozy way was a nice big rug – pure perfection. Obviously outdoor pillows are a must too. Rookie move but ours were left in the rain over the winter months so we are on the hunt for new, non-moldy ones! Okay, this one is a cozy situation – but blankets are also a summer must-have for cooler nights. Don’t be afraid to store them in a basket inside or under cover and bring them out only when you need them.
